PMMA-ABS Composite Sheet:

 

Composition: Typically involves co-extrusion or lamination, bonding a layer of Acrylic (PMMA) to an ABS core.

Enhanced Properties:

Superior Surface Aesthetics & Gloss: PMMA provides a brilliant, scratch-resistant, high-gloss finish.

Excellent UV Stability & Weather Resistance: PMMA layer protects the ABS core from yellowing and degradation outdoors.

Enhanced Chemical Resistance: PMMA offers better resistance to many solvents and cleaners than bare ABS.

Maintains ABS Core Properties: Retains good impact strength and formability from the ABS substrate.

PVC-ABS Laminate Sheet:

 

Composition: Usually involves laminating a rigid PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) layer to an ABS core.

Enhanced Properties:

Exceptional Chemical Resistance: PVC layer provides outstanding resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, alcohols, and many solvents – far exceeding ABS.

High Flame Retardancy: PVC is inherently flame retardant (often UL94 V-0).

Improved Weather Resistance: Better UV stability than bare ABS (though less than PMMA-ABS).

Good Rigidity.

Composition: Can be an alloy or co-extrusion, combining Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) with ABS. ASA replaces the vulnerable butadiene rubber in ABS with an acrylic elastomer.

Enhanced Properties:

Outstanding UV Stability & Weather Resistance: ASA provides exceptional resistance to fading, yellowing, and embrittlement from sunlight and outdoor exposure – the primary solution for ABS's biggest weakness.

Good Impact Strength: Maintains impact resistance, even after weathering.

Good Chemical Resistance: Similar to or slightly better than ABS.

Good Thermoformability: Similar processing characteristics to ABS.
